March 6, 2024 - Sapporo, Japan - SmileBoom Co.Ltd. has released version 1.8 of RPG Developer Bakin (pronounced BAH-keen), which adds a mask function in the Layout Tool, Chinese support, and other features. Additionally, SmileBoom is offering a Spring Sale 2024 with a 10% discount on RPG Developer Bakin and DLCs until March 15, 2024, at 2am.

Update Ver. 1.8 was released, adding a mask function in the Layout Tool and other features, as well as support for Chinese!

The first major update of the year includes such features and enhancements for future product launches as adding the "Layout Mask" function, changing the interface for specifying skill/item abilities in the Database, and adding support for simplified/traditional Chinese so that Bakin can be used in Chinese.

RPG Developer Bakin Ver. 1.8 Update Overview

The desired shapes can be used to display the layout parts! Layout Mask Function:
The Layout Tool now includes the mask function that enables users to set an image of the desired shape for masking, display a mini map in a circular shape, or cut out a character image into a desired shape. This feature allows for even more freedom in designing the screen interface. We will continue to expand support for mask functions in the tool, including support for sprites.

Bakin is available in Chinese! Chinese (Simplified/Traditional) support:
Simplified and traditional Chinese have been added to the language selection in the configuration settings, in addition to Japanese and English. The tool menus and other areas required for game creation have been localized, making Bakin user-friendly for Chinese-speaking users. We will continue to enhance the quality of our translations.

Many other features and improvements have also been added, including "changes to the interface for setting skill/item abilities in the Database", "increase to 10 action buttons that can be assigned functions in events", "controller vibration in response to screen shaking", and many others.
