Hokkaido, December 22, 2016 - SmileBoom Co. Ltd. announced today an updated version of their RPG creation software for Windows, SMILE GAME BUILDER ver. 1.0.6.0. New features including a long-awaited 3D battle system are added to SMILE GAME BUILDER ver. 1.0.6.0 and it will be sold at 20% off during the Steam Winter Sale from December 22, 2016 through January 2, 2017.

3D battle system

Caves, snow fields, deserts, wilderness, forts, and peaceful castles…The 3D battle system can be set up in any location on any prepared maps without recreating backgrounds, and players are now able to choose 2D or 3D models for allies and enemies. Also, you can use a combination of the two.

You can freely control detailed settings of the camerawork during battles. Small changes to the angles and movements of the camera can result in a significant increase in the originality of the game.

3D maps created through the "map editor" can be set as the background during battles. In addition to particle effects, such as rain, snow, and flames, all data available as event graphics can be implemented, allowing you to create lively battle scenes.

Customize Your Original Icon for Your game!

For the creation of games that will be distributed, we have added a feature that allows players to use an original icon. The icon for game data for use by the public can be changed from the default icon to an original icon specified by the user. By simply selecting the icon data of choice, icons of each size will be created automatically. The painstakingly-created world view of the game can be easily reflected in the icon.

About Release of Beta Version of SMILE GAME BUILDER for VR

With the increased interest in VR, SmileBoom Co. Ltd. released a beta version of SMILE GAME BUILDER for VR today. This system is compatible with HTC VIVE and Oculus Rift, and players can experience the 3D RPG world they created with SMILE GAME BUILDER in the virtual space with HDM devices without data conversion and any coding. Players are able to change the angle of view by switching the camera position between bird's-eye and character’s view. Please stay tuned for more updates.
